【Banjo Falls】Central Izu・Izu city

Banjo Falls is a 20m waterfall located in the Nakaizu district of Izu City. Located upstream of the Jizodo River, a tributary of the Kano River, this waterfall allows visitors to descend very close to the pool at the base of the falls, allowing them to experience the volume of water, the spray, and the powerful roaring sound up close. It is also extremely cool even in midsummer, making it an ideal place to escape the heat.

Formerly known as Otaki, this waterfall is also known as Urami no Taki, and previously it was possible to see behind the waterfall, but the trail is currently closed due to the risk of rockslides. Reinforcement work is also being carried out, and although it is no longer in its natural state, many tourists visit to view the powerful and beautiful waterfall.

There is a floodplain downstream, and in the summer it is crowded with families, campers, and visitors with dogs. The water is clean and very cold. There are hiking trails in the area, and there are several small waterfalls, so it is fun to go waterfall-hopping. There is a campsite right next to it, and you can enjoy experiences such as canyoning.
