【Toi Kinzan】 Family-friendly

Toi Gold Mine in Izu City is the largest gold mine in Izu, where gold and silver were produced during the Edo period. The estimated production volume is 40 tons of gold and 400 tons of silver. It has since been closed and is now a popular tourist spot where visitors can enjoy activities such as touring the mine shafts, panning for gold, and relaxing in foot baths.

坑道の総延長は100km、地下190mにも及んだ。その一部を整備して、当時の様子を人形を使って再現している。神社や風呂などもあり、当時の説明が丁寧になされている。お土産コーナーは金にまつわる様々な商品が陳列されている。純金ソフトや金のマスクなど、見ているだけで楽しい。
