きゅうあまぎさんずいどう (きゅうあまぎとんねる)
Former Amagi Tunnel

旧天城山隧道(旧天城トンネル)は、伊豆市と河津町を結ぶ国道414号線旧道に残る歴史的トンネルです。壁面や入口のアーチはすべて切り石で築かれており、現存する石造トンネルとしては国内最長となる全長445.5mを誇ります。現在は国の重要文化財にも指定されています。

トンネル内部は夏でもひんやりと涼しく、中央付近に立つと、時間が止まったかのような不思議な感覚に包まれます。足音が静かに響く空間を、ぜひゆっくりと歩いて味わってみてください。川端康成の名作『伊豆の踊子』ゆかりの地としても知られ、映画や映像作品にも幾度となく登場しています。

周囲には天城の原生林が広がり、ハイキングコースも充実。運が良ければイズシカの姿に出会えることもあります。伊豆市側の入口付近にはトイレやベンチも整備されており、自然と歴史を感じながら一息つけるスポットです。
