Toi Kinzan

伊豆市にある土肥金山は、江戸時代から金銀の採掘が行われていた、伊豆最大の金山です。推定産出量は金約40トン、銀約400トンともいわれ、かつては徳川幕府の財政を支えた重要な鉱山のひとつでした。現在は閉山されていますが、その歴史を体感できる観光施設として、多くの人に親しまれています。

坑道の総延長は約100km、最深部は地下190mにも及んだとされ、その一部が見学コースとして整備されています。坑道内では、採掘作業に励む人々の様子や当時の暮らしが人形で再現され、分かりやすい解説とともに、金山の歴史を学ぶことができます。坑道内には神社や風呂の再現もあり、過酷な労働の中で人々が心と体を支えていた様子が伝わってきます。

敷地内では、砂金採り体験や足湯など、実際に体を動かして楽しめる体験型コンテンツも充実しています。特に砂金採りは、子どもから大人まで夢中になれる人気の体験です。

お土産コーナーには、金にまつわるユニークな商品がずらりと並びます。純金ソフトクリームや金箔を使ったスイーツ、金のフェイスマスクなど、見ているだけでも楽しく、旅の思い出にぴったりです。学びと遊びを同時に楽しめる、伊豆らしい観光スポットといえるでしょう。
