Toi Gold Mine in Izu City is the largest gold mine in Izu, where gold and silver were produced during the Edo period. The estimated production volume is 40 tons of gold and 400 tons of silver. It has since been closed and is now a popular tourist spot where visitors can enjoy activities such as touring the mine shafts, panning for gold, and relaxing in foot baths.

The total length of the mine shafts extended to 100 km, reaching a depth of 190 meters underground. A portion of the shafts has been restored and is now used to recreate the atmosphere of the time with the help of mannequins. The site also features a shrine and bathhouses, with detailed explanations provided about life during that era.

The "Golden Hall," which displays the history of Toi Gold Mine and exhibits related materials, features the world's largest gold bar, weighing 250 kg. Recognized by the Guinness World Records, this gold bar is available for visitors to touch with their bare hands, attracting the curiosity of both foreign and Japanese tourists alike. The gift shop offers a variety of gold-themed products, such as pure gold soft-serve ice cream and gold face masks, making it an enjoyable experience even just to browse.
