Toi Sakura Festival | Japan’s Earliest Cherry Blossoms in Izu

The blossoms are large, thick-petaled, and long-lasting, making Toi Sakura a seasonal highlight that draws visitors every year. During the blooming period, the Toi Sakura Festival is held, featuring local food stalls, cultural events, and enchanting nighttime illuminations.

At Toi Gold Mine, cherry blossoms are illuminated on Friday through Sunday evenings. During the festival period, admission is free from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., creating a romantic atmosphere unlike the daytime scenery.

Visitors can also enjoy a stamp rally around local landmarks such as Matsubara Park, Manpukuji Temple, and Toi Shrine, along with local products, cherry-leaf tea, and festival-exclusive goshuin (temple stamps).

Set against the calm waters of the Izu coast, Toi Sakura is a winter tradition that gently welcomes the coming of spring.
