Okami’s Hina Doll Display｜【February 14～March 3】 in Shuzenji Onsen

On display are rare hina dolls passed down through the Meiji, Taisho, Showa, and Heisei periods, along with dignified palace-style doll arrangements. Visitors can admire the subtle differences in facial expressions, costumes, and the exquisite craftsmanship unique to each era, viewed up close in an intimate setting.

Also featured are Hina no Tsurushi Kazari, traditional hanging ornaments native to the Izu region. Originating in the late Edo period, these handmade decorations were created by families who could not afford hina dolls, each charm carefully sewn to wish for children’s health, happiness, longevity, and protection from illness.

Set against the calm atmosphere of Shuzenji Onsen, this seasonal exhibition offers a chance to experience Japan’s traditional culture and the warmth of handcraft. A must-visit spring event when sightseeing in Shuzenji and Izu City.
