East Izu Area

About the Area

The East Izu area is easily accessible from the Kanto region and is popular as a hot spring resort. Many inns, hotels, and villas stand along the rugged coast where the Izu Kyuko Line runs north and south. At Mt. Omuroyama and Hosono Highlands, which offer pleasant open views, you can enjoy activities in the great outdoors. You can also enjoy onsen while watching the morning sun over Sagami Bay to the east. It's also fun to find your favorite among the many ateliers and museums in Izu Highlands. In summer, large-scale fireworks festivals on the Izu Peninsula light up the night sky in Atami and Ito.
