【Former Amagi Tunnel】 Amagi

A tunnel on the old Route 414 connecting Izu City and Kawazu Town. Its walls and entrance arch are entirely made of cut stone, making it the longest existing stone tunnel in Japan (445.5 meters). It has also been designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan.

【Namesawa Gorge (Tarosugi)】 Amagi|Hiking・Nature

A valley on the northern side of Amagi Pass, nestled within a dense forest along a tributary of the Kano River. Following the hiking trail along the stream from Ryushi Falls, the majestic Taro Cedar, a designated natural monument, suddenly comes into view.

【Hie Shrine】Sacred spot

Hie Shrine, located at the kimon (demon gate) which is adjacent from Shuzenji Temple. Originally the temple’s Sanno Shrine and is said to have been founded by Kobo Daishi.In October, the annual festival is held, featuring mikoshi (portable shrines) and shagiri floats parading through the Shuzenji Onsen area.
