About the Area

Before, Mishima and Numazu was flourished for being the post town of Tokaido, eastern sea route. Mishima is known for being the entrance of the Izu Peninsula. The Kano River originates from the Amagi Mountains and flows north, before turning south at Numazu and flowing into Suruga Bay, located on the Pacific Ocean). Along the coast of Suruga Bay, Japan's deepest sea, the Senbonmatsu Bara grove, an area closely linked to people's lives, spreads out, creating a picturesque landscape. The Mishima lava land, formed by the great eruption of Mount Fuji 10,000 years ago, is where meltwater from Mount Fuji springs up.
